Victron MultiPlus 12/1600/70-16 Inverter/Charger
Victron MultiPlus 12/1600/70-16 Inverter/Charger
A slightly smaller-output sibling to the MultiPlus 12/2000/80, combining a 1600VA pure sine wave inverter, a 70A adaptive battery charger, and a high-speed 16A AC transfer switch in one compact unit - well matched to caravans and camper trailers with moderate power demands.
Pure sine wave, properly rated
The inverter section delivers clean 230VAC pure sine wave output, the kind of power quality that sensitive electronics, some appliance motors, and certain battery chargers genuinely need to run correctly rather than just "running" on a rougher waveform.
Sub-20-millisecond transfer switching
When shore or generator power drops out, the built-in 16A transfer switch hands over to the inverter in under 20 milliseconds - fast enough that computers and other sensitive devices keep running without interruption or data loss.
70A adaptive charging
The charger runs a 4-stage adaptive algorithm (bulk, absorption, float, storage) configurable for lead-acid or lithium batteries, designed for safe, efficient unattended charging that adapts to how the battery is actually being used rather than running a fixed cycle regardless.
PowerControl and PowerAssist included
Set a maximum current draw to avoid overloading limited shore power or a generator (PowerControl), or let the unit top up an undersized AC source with battery power during peak loads (PowerAssist) - both standard features, not optional extras.

Best suited to
Caravans, camper trailers and smaller off-grid systems where 1600VA covers the typical appliance load, and a slightly lower charge current than the 80A model is sufficient for the battery bank size.
