Non-isolated for simpler installation
This model shares chassis ground between input and output, which means a simpler wiring job in most vehicle installs — you only need to run a DC+ cable to the unit, with the ground returning through the chassis and house negative bus bar, rather than running a full isolated positive and negative pair.

A converter, not a charger
The Orion 24/12-70 is a fixed-output DC-DC converter — it supplies a stable 12V rail for accessories and equipment. It does not run a multi-stage battery charge algorithm. If you need to charge a 12V auxiliary battery from a 24V source, look at the Orion-Tr Smart isolated DC-DC chargers or the Orion XS range instead.
