This 2500 Watt Pro-Series Pure Sine Wave Inverter provides a genuine 2500 Watts of continuous power (battery capacity determines how long you can run for) and has a massive 5000 Watt startup peak/surge power. This allows for the running of multiple high power appliances to be run simultaneously.

The unit comes with a remote switching panel, with 5m cable to allow you to flush mount this control panel in any panel 3mm to 20mm thick. This means you can place your inverter out of sight (under a bed, in a cupboard, under a seat), and still easily turn the unit on and off when power is required. Comes with a protective box on rear of panel and mounting screws (template provided in manual). The switch panel also provides AC and DC voltages and displays any fault codes.

The slimline anodized aluminium housing (corrosion resistant) holds an intelligent high flow brushless fan and voltage/current protections. They also have an extremely low no load draw (0.8A idle power consumption when powered up and with no load ensures minimal battery consumption when the inverter is not in use ) and high conversion efficiency due to the integrated heat syncs so you can be sure that your inverter wont run your batteries down if left on, and will use your stored power efficiently with minimal power loss.

There are extensive protection systems for high and low voltage, over current, high temperature, short circuit and reverse polarity protections to prevent damage to the unit in case of incorrect use.

A 2500W pure sine wave inverter may sound to be a complex piece of off road equipment. However, the task it performs is relatively straightforward and it can make life much easier when living or travelling off-road. It allows you to use any device you will plug in at home but is powered by your batteries instead.

The Need for a Pure Sine Wave Inverter Off-road living means being away from the services you accept as normal when at home. That includes a stable domestic power supply that allows you to run all your gadgets and other electrical equipment. When you’re away from home, however, you either need to manage without or take other actions to achieve your personal required levels of comfort.

How a 2500w Pure Sine Wave Inverter Can Make Life Easier
The domestic mains electricity supply provides power at 230 volts AC (Yes this is now the Australian voltage standard, not 240V) and all equipment intended for use in the home is designed for that voltage output. Caravans, camp sites and motor homes, on the other hand, deliver electricity at a much lower 12 volts and so using household electrical equipment directly on a 12v setup just doesn’t work.

One answer is to use equipment that is specifically designed for use on 12 volt systems. However, these will be much less efficient due to the lower levels of power they consume and may not do the job you require of them (think kettle, toaster etc with high power needs).

A better alternative is to use a 2500W pure sine wave inverter that takes power from a 12 volt battery and converts it into 230 volt power that is identical to the normal mains supply. You can therefore use it to power any normal domestic or business appliances such as laptops, air conditioners, kettles, microwaves, coffee machines and more.

This is a far better solution than a modified wave inverter that is less expensive and creates something resembling a pure sine wave but which can damage sensitive equipment, produces some interference and is not compatible for all equipment. It’s also preferable to an AC generator that can be noisy, smelly and requires fuel. Modified sine wave is suitable for simple devices with no sensitive electronics like a kettle or toaster.

Getting the Best 2500w Pure Sine Wave Inverter

Although buying an inverter isn’t a major challenge, you should follow a few basic principles to select the most suitable one:

• If you’re likely to use the inverter a lot — every day or for long periods — get one that’s big enough and sufficiently durable for the job. Small inverters may be suitable for infrequent and light use, such as recharging mobile devices or cordless tools, but larger inverters will have more conversion power and may even allow you to run multiple devices simultaneously.

• Get one that has sufficient wattage to support all the devices you want to connect. Add up the wattage that each one will consume (30-50 watts for a typical caravan television, for example) and increase the total by 20% to be safe. Be sure to allow for peak power demand although a 2500W pure sine wave inverter will be enough for most needs.

• Look for an inverter with a high efficiency rating (generally at least 85-90%) since this will draw less battery current and run cooler.

• Ensure your 2500W pure sine wave inverter has plenty of safety features to prevent problems. These features include protection if voltage is above or below the expected range and the ability to operate in harsh conditions that may exist off-road.
